Knights of Columbus hold dinner for soldiers and trainees at Fort Jackson

Knights of Columbus Assembly 1072 in Columbia will be holding its annual Christmas dinner for soldiers and trainees from Fort Jackson Army Base December 27, 2105.

The annual dinner sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Assembly 1072, will be held be held at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church Family Li fe Center, and wi l l begin at 6 p.m.

The event was begun by Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree Assembly three years ago as a way of showing appreciation for the men and women who make the sacrifice of being away from their loved during the Christmas Holidays in order to serve and protect our country.

The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic Charitable fraternity established by Father Micheal J. McGiveney in 1882 and operates off the four guiding tenets of “Charity,” “Fraternity” (Brotherhood), “Unity,” and “Patriotism.”

The organization is one of the largest and most active “Faith Based” layperson organizations in the world.

The Fourth Degree Assembly of “Sir Knights” are made up of a group of men from all walks of life who are leaders in the organization, community, and church.
