Demolition of Lambda Chi Alpha begins

Demolition started at the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity house Monday. The fraternity decided to vacate the property and tear it down in order to build a new structure instead of installing an automatic sprinkler system that the City Council required.

The fraternity is planning to build a new house at the same location, according to Tim Reed, an alumnus from the MU chapter.

The new house will be larger and closer to the road with parking behind the house. Reed hopes construction on the house will be completed by fall 2018.
